Simple Ways to Enhance Your Radio Communication

Here are a few easy ways to enhance your two-way radio communication:

Upgrade to digital

Are your radio conversations sounding muffled, spotty, or cutting in and out? Upgrading your fleet to digital can help clear up audio quality and enhance coverage within your day-to-day operations. Quite often switching from analog to digital can clear up current problems that are being experienced with your radios. If you are currently using the CP200d analog radio, you can purchase the software upgrade and make it digital!

Use a higher quality accessory

Having an accessory that is reliable and durable can make a huge difference in your teams’ communication. Sometimes cheaper accessories make the audio quality diminish and harder to understand. Purchasing a noise canceling surveillance kit can help clear background noise and give you a better user experience.

Use a longer antenna

If your radio fleet has stubby antennas, using whip antennas can help extend your coverage in-building or outside. Sometimes this quick swapping of antennas can give you about 20% better coverage!

Add a repeater

Adding a repeater can help give you extended coverage and allow your team to connect even further. These are even available in our rental fleet if you are needing them for a short period of time or for a rental event

Two-way Radios are more than just a "Box Solution"...

Two-way Radios are more than just a “Box Solution”...It’s About Customer Service

Investing in two-way radios is a big step for any business, school, or facility. It’s important that as an end user, you know which two-way radios, features, licensing options, and systems are available to you. Too often businesses looking to buy radios are emailed a price list and a spec sheet from a vendor and expected to make a decision without handling the product. Or, they are pushed towards a certain radio model even though it may not be the best fit for their operation.

Buying FCC licensed two-way radios for your team is more than just being sold a box with a radio in it and having to figure it out on your own. Factors like location, building size, industry, and user preference all come into play when finding the right radio for your team. Depending on the type of radio, there are many different features that can enhance your operations.

Having a go-to partner that is willing to come on site, test radios with you, and be your communications consultant is important to make sure your two-way radios or radio system operates correctly throughout your day-to-day operations. The relationship shouldn’t end after the sale either. Your communications partner should be there handling warranty repairs, reprogramming, and assist you when you are looking to expand your radio fleet and make adjustments in the future.

Here at Radio Resource, we offer more than just "box solutions", we offer personal communication solutions fit for your specific operations.

If you are interested in having one of our representatives come on site in the Denver Metro area, we would be more than happy to help you find the right solution.

Two-way Radio vs. Cell Phone

Posted by Michael Pollex on Aug 10, 2018 2:09:11 PM

Two-way Radio vs. Cell Phone

Two-way radios offer a great advantage over cell phones when it comes to keeping your work team connected, efficient, and on task. Often times it easy to lose reception on a cell phone or not connect instantly with the person you are attempting to call. Two-way radios from MOTOTRBO can connect you instantly with one person or all of your work force. With MOTOTRBO, you are able to send texts, emergency alerts, work order tickets, and much more.

Take for example a manufacturing plant. When a piece of machinery malfunctions in the plant, production comes to a halt. With a MOTOTRBO Digital radio the production manager can quickly send out an alert to ALL of the employees on the floor letting them know there is an issue. In this situation the production manager can quickly put in a work order ticket and request an order for new parts all over their MOTOTRBO digital two-way radio. MOTOTRBO allows you to easily transmit voice and data in an instant, allowing radio users to take care of the situation on hand with one device. Not to mention, two-way radios are far more durable than cell phones. With noise cancelling accessories and technology, two-way radios can help users communicate clearer in tough environments. Users can have more piece of mind knowing their radio is durable and can get the job done. Cell phones, especially in the manufacturing setting have proven to be less efficient, less durable, and more distracting. Quite often cell phones can lose service, are slow to turn on, and are not reliable in noisy situations.

Digital two-way radios from Motorola have been proven to withstand tough environments for long hours. There are even intrinsically safe options for two-way radios for those working in hazardous environments.

Two-way Radios and Manufacturing Operations

Posted by Michael Pollex on Dec 14, 2017 8:41:46 AM

Two-way Radios Increase Manufacturing Plant Productivity

Manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to hit their production goals and increase the efficiency of their operations. According to one specific study, 20% of profits are being lost in plant operations due to the amount of downtime that occurs.

Whether it is food production plant or a chemical plant, operations are always looking for a way to increase their team efficiency and connectedness. One way to do so is by having quality two-way radio communication systems in place. Employees of manufacturing plants need a way to stay connected, increase efficiency, and increase safety of operations.

Motorola Solutions offers some great choices when it comes to two-way radios for plant operations. To start, many Motorola radios have an intrinsically safe option. When conditions are hazardous, or the radio needs that extra level of protection, Motorola can provide that for the user. Extra accessories such as speaker mics, noise cancelling headsets, and different options give the end user a large amount of options.

Motorola’s WAVE Work Group Communications allows you to connect your radios with other devices, such as, smartphones, tablets, and PCs. By connecting all of your devices, this allows you to get every department the right information using their preferred communication platform. Using digital technology at your plant will give you better coverage and clearer voice.
